Lumberyard Technician

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus ($500 @ 3 months, $500 @ 6 months)

Ability to operate infeed conveyor, including making layers, culling out 2’ shorter boards at 54 bf/min average, Ability to make full layers with full length boards on the bottom of each pack, Must be able to correctly write up lumber tickets (identify vendors and load numbers) and do daily paperwork, Must be able to correctly stack sticks between layers and operate the layer lift and outfeed conveyor, Must be able to correctly paint lumber packs, Assist the forklift driver in unloading lumber from trucks correctly and safely, Assist in loading/unloading the kilns and pre-dryer using correct blocking technique

Manufacturing General Laborer

 $1,00 Sign-On Bonus ($500 @ 3 months, $500 @ 6 months)

Operate a trim saw to remove defects in wood, Assist end match saw operators, Assist Glue table in assembly of wood products, Assist with the moving of lumber to help better production, Ability to operate a foot operated saw, Ability to identify and remove defects in lumber, Ability to identify/report quality issues to leads/manager, Ability to identify maintenance issues/report to leads/manager.

Must be able to work an 8-12 hour shift, Monday through Friday. Start time is 6:00 AM.

Lumber Yard Manager

Summary

The lumber yard and inventory control manager reports directly to the operations manager. They are responsible for managing up to 6 direct-report employees who all serve in the function of managing RAD’s kiln drying process and boiler operations. The yard manager is expected to supervise and/or be directly involved in the purchase of raw material. Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to the yard team, ensuring that all objectives in terms of safety, quality, and throughput are met successfully on a daily basis. Motivates the team members and assesses their performance. Provides help to management, including training, coaching and disciplining. Keeps management updated on team performance and communicates concerns and policies among management and team members.

Basic Responsibilities

· Sets example as leader of the organization and buys-into company culture and values
· Oversees the day-to-day operation of the yard department, with up to 6 direct-report employees
· Leads the yard team in support of daily production goals while striving for best practices in terms of safety and quality.
· Leads training for all yard employees and rough mill employees, and any other employees who would benefit from lumber-specific training
· Develops SOPs and documentation for best-practices in the yard and with the company’s inventory control processes
· Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date raw material inventory.
· Develops and implements ways to save the company on yield and raw material usage
· Generates, develops, and implements a reliable supplier scorecard system to hold lumber vendors accountable
· Works with Rough Mill and Assembly Manager to plan production and allocate specific lumber for specific jobs and in sufficient quantities to ensure the continuous operation of the gang rip team.
· Creates a winning yard team environment with an open communication and accountability culture.
· Initiates and participates in continuous improvement initiatives for the yard and the entire facility in terms of safety, quality, and production metrics.
· Ensures that all lumber deliveries are properly inspected as per company procedures ensuring that all inspection documentation is accurate and complete and communicated to management as required.
· Responsible for meeting all lumber unloading, put-away and staking rates as set for by the company.
· Responsible for the proper operation of the Boiler Room, ensuring that all required testing and maintenance is completed and recorded as required.
· Communicates team attendance issues and concerns to management and human resources.
· Maintains a safe, clean and organized yard, Boiler Room and Predryer area at all times.
· Monitors team performance and reports on metrics.
· Develops training needs and provides training and coaching to the yard team.
· Listens to team members’ feedback and resolves any issues or conflicts.
· Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Machine Operator

Duties and Responsibilities

· Operate Machinery such as Rip Saw, Glue Rip Saw, Molder
· Ability to set machine and perform daily quality checks
· Ability to change settings on equipment for change overs
· Responsible for performing some routine maintenance on equipment
· Ability to complete production and quality paperwork daily

Job Requirements

· Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow plant safety riles and practices. Maintain a high standard for housekeeping within work areas
· Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them
· Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with co-workers in areas of safety, quality, production/maintenance understand the importance of completing tasks and their relationship to other requirements
· Ability to adhere to company culture standards such as continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration.
Prior Experience in a Manufacturing setting – preferred

Physical Demands

· Requires a minimum of eight hours of standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling, or sitting (as required), with a full range of body mechanics.
· Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequently required to push/pull 50 pounds.
· Must be able to work in an environment which requires 100% sight.
· Must have the ability to utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing/eye protection.

Starting Wage – $18.00 per hour

Production Planner

Responsibilities

· Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling on orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve customer delivery dates
· Evaluate purchase orders to create suitable production schedule
· Promptly address and resolve issues to minimize delays in production
· Make adjustments to production schedule to ensure deadlines are met
· Release correct and prompt production paperwork to manufacturing floor
· Utilize ERP system to enter and update schedule daily
· Compile status and performance reports for updating management daily
· Receive and process customer orders
· Track orders, update statuses and communicate with customers on any changes in their delivery status

Experience

· Associates degree
· Previous Experience as a Production Planner/Scheduler
· Knowledge of raw materials and the production process
· In-depth knowledge of ERP system preferred
· Ability to interact and communicate well with internal and external customers

Operator Technician

$1000 Sign-On Bonus ($500 @ 3 months, $500 @ 6 months)

Starting wage up 24/HR depending on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Set up, monitor, adjust and operate production machinery
– Conduct inspections of products to evaluate quality and performance of machine
– Clean, inspect and perform routine maintenance on machinery and assist maintenance technicians with diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing machinery
– Ability to change settings and blades on equipment for changeovers
– Ability to complete production and quality paperwork daily
– Ability to learn/understand yield
– Perform pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist
– Ability to work with limited supervision

Job Requirements:

– Proven experience as a Machine Operator Technician in heavy manufacturing
– Working knowledge of diverse, high-speed machinery, wood processing a plus
– Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow plant safety rules and practices. Maintain a high standard for housekeeping within work areas
– Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them
– Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with co-workers in areas of safety, quality, production/maintenance understand the importance of completing tasks and their relationship to other requirements
– Ability to adhere to company culture standards such as continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration
– Ability to use a caliper and micrometer
