OAK, MAPLE & OTHER HARDWOOD FLOORING KITS

Whether you are looking to replace your current wood flooring or upgrade your existing flooring material, RAD offers American made flooring solutions for commercial trailers. RAD flooring kits include oak and mixed hardwood flooring options for dry van trucks and semi trailers.

Traditionally, oak floors have been used in dry van trucks and trailers and they offer a long-lasting and high quality solution. Many customers are choosing mixed hardwood flooring over oak as an affordable and reliable alternative. The technology for mixed hardwood floors has become competitive with the oak and is a more affordable solution. Whichever material option is right for your commercial trailer, RAD can help you decide and get the most out of your investment.

Sourced from the nearby Appalachian hardwood-growing region, our wood floors are available in thicknesses from 1 to 1½ inches and lengths up to 53 feet. We work with our customers to ensure their trailer flooring specifications are met; every order is made to precisely fit our customers’ needs. Our flooring kits are available with or without protective undercoat paint.

FAQs

What type of wood flooring is best for trailer trucks?

For commercial trailers, oak flooring is a traditional choice but many fleets are now choosing maple and mixed hardwood alternatives due to their cost-effectiveness and proven longevity.

What is included in the flooring kit?

A flooring kit is simply all of the long boards that are used to make the floor of a truck or trailer. A kit will come with a unique profile or routing for the side boards and will contain a modified shiplap on the center boards. Most flooring kits are 8 boards total, but some may consist of 9 or more. If you are replacing a wood floor, chances are we can match the correct kit to the model of fleet vehicles you have.

What size flooring kits are available?

All of our flooring kits are available in traditional thicknesses from 1 to 1½ inches and lengths up to 53 feet. If you have a non-traditional size, just ask, as we have the manufacturing capabilities to offer non-standard dimensions.

How long does it take to receive my flooring kit after I place an order?

Lead times are constantly changing but RAD strives to keep a 8-12 week lead time for most customers.

What is the IUCN Red List and why does it matter?

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species, founded in 1964, is the world’s most comprehensive inventory of the global conservation of biological species. It uses a set of criteria to evaluate the extinction risk of thousands of species and subspecies. RAD takes pride in offering environmentally responsible wood flooring solutions.

The list has identified several tropical hardwood species, such as apitong and keruing, that are at-risk, illegal in the U.S. and should not be harvested.
